Many who have visited Palau consider
it to be the 8th wonder of the world. It has also been called a divers paradise
and a honeymooner's dream come true. It is definitely all of these things but to
those who live in Palau, it is home, and they welcome you to share its beauty.
Palau is made up of a chain of several islands. The Northern most island is Kayangel and the Southern most is Sonorol or the Southwest Islands. There are approximately 200 islands, most are uninhabited. The total population is just over 17,000. The capital, Koror is the most highly populated area of Palau, is the center of business, and where you'll find most of the shops and restaurants.
The official language of Palau is English and Palauan, the currency is the US
dollar. Electricity is the same as in the US and postage is the same as in the
US.
